- MATERIAL:  There is no label, but I am quite certain this is wool. It also has the soft feel and texture of wool.  It is not likely acrylic fiber because acrylic was in very limited use in the 1940s & 1950s.  My Aunt got it from a department store in Birmingham, Alabama back in the mid to late 1940s.  I got it from her estate in 1998.

- CONDITION:  Pre-owned.  It was carefully used and well cared.  You can feel the strength and durability in the material. A couple of seams are loose but the body & trim are in Excellent Condition and could well last another lifetime!
